I remember a friend tryig to put a FI gas tank in a carb model car, flooded it really badly. Christopher A. Young We survived Y2K, but will we survive Y2C? This Y2C is what they are enduring in California: Survivalist situations caused by the government regulating business and preventing the free market forces from working. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mark Alligood To: misc_survivalism_moderated@yahoogroups.com Sent: Wednesday, August 01, 2001 12:49 AM Subject: RE: [misc_survivalism_moderated] Re: My CERT Burb- was Vehicle Woes That is one of the good things about fuel injection. The fuel pump is 12v vice the mechanical type of most of the older carbed engines. Fuel injection requires a pressurized line, usually anywhere from 20 to 40 psi (I think). Once you turn on the key and the pump gets power it charges the fuel line. I have ran mine out of gas plenty of times and it always fires right up after I dump 5 gallons from the spare cans. Injection keeps the constant preasure and the injectors actully do the regulation. I'm surprised that he didn't have a gas fountain on his motor.
