Put popsicle sticks in a test tube, and apply heat. We got a stinky mess, but some liquid we were able to condense. We also got a lot of methane gas. The liquid we condensed out, we had to distil again to get the methanol. Can be done, but really does smell like a bad house fire. I've heard that gas engines will run on kerosene -- but only after they are warmed up. You need gas or ether to get them going the first couple minutes. Christopher A. Young P.O.
