Treatment of Circulatory Injuries 1. Objective: Diagnose and treat patients with circulatory injuries to include wounds of the head, face, neck, chest, and abdomen. 2. Task: Each student will learn to recognize and treat wounds of the head, neck, face, chest and the abdomen. 3. Conditions: Students will be given training on how to diagnose and manage various wounds, and emergency medical supplies and equipment. 4. Standards: Students must be able to give life saving treatment for head, facial and cervical wounds, open and closed chest wounds, to include sucking chest wound and flail chest, and be able to manage abdominal wounds to include visceral lacerations. 5. Reason: Management of circulatory wounds of major body systems necessary for sustaining life, and management and prevention of shock. 6. Safety precautions: Smoking, eating and refreshments will be permitted only in designated areas. Needles and sharps will be safely stored and destroyed. 7.
