- If you look for your topic and it isn't there, look for a more general topic or use the MEDLINEplus search feature to find a page where your topic may be listed.

- Choose the Advanced Search feature for a more detailed search.
- For example, if you are looking for information on mosquito bites:
- try the Insect Bites and Stings page; or
- type the word mosquito into the Search box; the results of the search will lead you to the Insect Bites and Stings page.
- Sometimes there isn't enough quality Web-based information on a topic for MEDLINEplus to cover it.
- Use the Medical Encyclopedia to find more information.
- A link to the Medical Encyclopedia is available from the Health Topics page; you will find a link back to the Health Topics page just below the header of every MEDLINEplus page.
