Hypovolemic shock

Signs and tests:
An examination indicates the presence of shock.
There is low blood pressure,
and body temperature may drop.
- Angiography/heart
catheterization may show low cardiac output (pumping
action), confirming shock.
- Tests may be required to determine site and cause of
volume depletion, including a CT
scan, an MRI scan,
or an X-ray of suspected
areas.
- Laboratory tests include a CBC;
other tests may be performed depending on the suspected
cause of the loss of volume.
This disease may also alter the results of a BUN
test.
