Definition:
Enteritis is condition involving swelling of the lining of the small intestine because of inflammation. Enteropathy describes the condition that develops when inflammation damages the small intestine. Radiation enteritis (radiation enteropathy) results from exposure to radiation (as from radiation therapy used to treat cancer).
