Von Gierke's disease

Definition:

An autosomal recessive inherited metabolic disorder of glycogen storage. Abnormal amounts of glycogen accumulate in various tissues causing a wide range of symptoms. Symptoms include convulsions, bleeding problems, failure to thrive, xanthomas on the skin (waxy yellowish plaques), and increased lordosis (curvature of the lumbar spine).
