Craniopharyngioma
Definition:
A tumor which develops in the pituitary gland, a small endocrine gland at the base of the brain. Craniopharyngiomas often secrete active hormones such as growth hormone and may cause pituitary gigantism or acromegaly before they are detected. Individuals with craniopharyngiomas may also suffer from headaches and visual changes.
