Dyshidrotic eczema
Alternative names:
dyshidrosis
Treatment:
- wet dressings may ease the itching
- topical steroids or topical antipruritics (containing Pramoxine)
- avoid scratching
- oral anti-pruritics such as Temaril, Atarax, or Benadryl may alleviate itching
Expectations (prognosis):
Dyshidrotic eczema normally resolves without problems. Uninhibited scratching and skin trauma may lead to an eczematoid type reaction which is more difficult to treat and has a longer healing time.

- Secondary bacterial infection
