Schizoid personality disorder
Definition:
A pattern of indifference to social relationships, with a limited range of emotional expression and experience
Causes, incidence, and risk factors:
People with schizoid personality disorders do not have schizophrenia and do maintain a grip on reality. People with this disorder are unable to relate to other people and are often reclusive, may never marry, or live (as older adults) with their parents. The disorder usually has its onset in early adulthood.
