Congenital syphilis

Treatment:

Penicillin is the treatment for all forms of syphilis. (See penicillins - oral and penicillins - injectable).

Expectations (prognosis):

A high death rate is typical of congenital syphilis. Treatment of the expectant mother prevents congenital syphilis in the infant.
