Hot tub folliculitis

Treatment:

Treatment may not be needed. Topical anti-pseudomonal antibiotics are usually effective. Oral or topical anti-pruritics ("anti-itch" medications) may be used.

Expectations (prognosis):

The condition generally clears up spontaneously. Antibiotic therapy is rarely needed.

Complications:

  • abscess formation (rare)
  • discomfort
