Gianotti-Crosti syndrome on the leg

Overview   Symptoms   Treatment   Prevention

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)

Alternative names:

RSV

Prevention:

There is no specific prevention for infection with RSV. Parents with young infants (under 18 months old) should avoid outings and crowds during outbreaks of RSV. Moderate-to-large outbreaks are often reported in the local news and newspapers to provide parents with an opportunity to avoid exposure. Following these newscasts is important when winter epidemics fill the hospitals with infants suffering from RSV induced bronchiolitis. See also bronchiolitis
