Interstitial keratitis

Definition:
A deep form of inflammation of the cornea (front part of the eyeball). Keratitis is associated with visual impairment, eye pain, excessive watering and photophobia. Syphilis is the most common cause, but other rare causes include leprosy and tuberculosis.
