Treatment:
Radical surgery is often indicated, frequently involving amputation of the involved extremity.
After surgery, chemotherapy is given. Common chemotherapy drugs include: - methotrexate
- doxorubicin
- dactinomycin
- bleomycin
- Cytoxan
- cisplatin
- Adriamycin
Expectations (prognosis):
In the absence of pulmonary metastasis (spread of the tumor to the lungs), long-term survival may reach 50%. Long-term survival is unlikely if the disease spreads.
