Question: Are bug-repellent sprays safe?
Answer: If applied sparingly to exposed, undamaged skin (no more than twice a day), then the sprays are safe. Avoid putting the spray on sunburned skin, hands, or near the eyes. Topical (applied to a localized area of the skin) creams may be a safer alternative. Mosquito repellents are NOT safe in young children, who may overdose fairly easily.
