Question: Where should you hide during a natural disaster?
Answer: For a fire, get outside immediately but don't open a door if it feels hot--go out a window. For an earthquake, shield yourself against falling objects by crawling under something sturdy (like a desk). For a hurricane or flood, stay in a room with no windows. For a tornado, get to the lowest possible level where you will be safe from flying glass and debris. See safety.
Question: How can you prepare for a hurricane or other natural disaster?
Answer: Keep emergency numbers readily accessible. Have emergency drills with your family to practice what to do in case of a real disaster. Evacuate immediately if told to do so by authorities.
