Growth and development of a 9-month-old:
Physical and motor:
  • weight should increase by 2 lb. 4 oz. to 3 lb. 12 oz.
  • height gain of 1 and 1/2 inches since 6 months old
  • bowel and bladder systems become more regulated
  • parachute reflex to protect self from falling
  • crawls
  • can remain sitting for prolonged periods
