Question: Do most men experience impotence with age?
Answer: Age does not imply impotence. Sexual responses become slower and less intense with age, and it may take longer to acheive an erection than in youth. However, the erection may be maintained for a longer period than in younger men.
Impotence in the older adult is less likely to be a result of decreased testosterone (male sex hormone) but rather related to psycological factors, disease, chronic illness, or medications.
