Sebaceous adenoma



Information:

Definition:
A cyst filled with sebum (fatty secretions from sebaceous glands). Not malignant, not infected.

The cyst, or adenoma, may become quite large and may be painful, depending on its location. It may result from obstruction of a sebaceous gland duct, which usually are located with hair follicles. It may require incision, drainage, or excision.
