Vasoconstriction



Information:

Definition:
Condition of constriction or narrowing of blood vessels. Vasoconstriction may be slight or severe. May result from disease states, medications, or psychological conditions. When blood vessels constrict, the flow of blood is restricted or slowed. Medications may be used to treat vasoconstriction. Medications may also cause vasoconstriction, such as:
  • antihistamines and decongestants - oral
  • cough/cold combinations - oral
  • pseudoephedrine
  • caffeine
