Information:
Definition: Tests for specific enzyme activity in the body. Diseases can cause enzymes to stop functioning or decrease their activity. Enzyme marker tests combine an enzyme with its substrate (the substance being changed by the enzyme) and monitor the output. Results are reported as a percentage of typical (normal) enzyme activily.
