Hypersensitivity pneumonitis

Symptoms:

• cough
• fever
• shortness of breath
• fatigue
• wheezing
• weight loss (unintentional)
• appetite, loss

Signs and tests:

Crackles may be heard by stethoscope examination of the chest.

Tests include:

• a chest X-ray
• pulmonary function tests
• a CBC
• hypersensitivity pneumonitis antibody panels

This disease may also alter the results of the following tests:

• bronchoscopy with transtracheal biopsy
• aspergillosis precipitin
