Stroke secondary to carotid stenosis

Prevention:

Prevention includes control of risk factors. Hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, and other risk factors should be treated as appropriate. Smoking should be minimized or, preferably, stopped.

Treatment of TIA may prevent some strokes.
