Cutaneous candidiasis

Symptoms:
- itching (may be intense)
- skin lesion or rash
- enlarging patch
- macule or papule
- reddened, may be beefy red, raw
- may have scales
- may have satellite blister-like or pimple-like lesions
- located on the skin folds, genitals, trunk, buttocks, under the breasts, or other skin areas

Signs and tests:
Diagnosis is primarily based on the appearance of the skin, particularly if risk factors are present. A culture (see skin or mucosal biopsy culture) or microscopic examination shows Candida.
