Definition:
Arthralgia is pain in one or more joints. See also arthritis (inflammation of joints) and muscle pain.
Considerations:
Joint pain is not always caused by arthritis but can still be very bothersome.
Osteoarthritis is degeneration of cartilage at a joint and growth of bone spurs. It is very common in adults over 45 years old.
Bursitis is inflammation of the bursa. The bursa are fluid-filled sacs that cushion and pad bony prominences, allowing muscles and tendons to move freely over the bone.
