Enteroclysis

Normal values:

The small intestine is normal in size and contour. Contrast travels through the intestines without reflux or obstruction and at a normal rate.

What abnormal results mean:

This test can show:

• focal (localized) inflammation of the small bowel (such as with Crohn's disease)
• focal narrowing of the bowel
• intestinal stricture
• intestinal fistula
• small bowel obstruction
• the site of intermittent partial small bowel obstruction
• small bowel disorders in people with gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding who have a normal upper GI X-ray
• small bowel disorders in persons with GI bleeding who have normal colon X-rays
• tumors (or metastasis of tumors) in the small intestines
• intestinal motility (movement) problems
