Scrofuloderma
Alternative names:
tubercular cervical adenitis
Prevention:
No preventive measures are required in regard to milk or milk products and tuberculosis. However, pulmonary tuberculosis is on the increase in the United States and the rest of the world. TB's rise has been associated with the AIDS epidemic and resulting number of immunocompromised people, with increases in homeless and street populations and the appearance of drug resistant strains. Because of this reemergence of TB, routine tuberculin skin testing is recommended at 1 and 5 years of age and for any children or adults who have been exposed to tuberculosis.
