Hydrocele

Symptoms:
- painless, swollen testicle, one or both sides, which feels like a water filled balloon
Signs and tests:
Physical examination shows a non-tender, varying and unstable mass within the scrotal sac containing the testicle. The fluid in a hydrocele is clear. Subsequently a light can be shined through the scrotum outlining the testis and indicating the presence of clear fluid. An ultrasound may be done to confirm the diagnosis.
